Exactly! Dubya only faked the existence of WMDs to validate his desire to invade a country for the very good reason that it was thumbing its nose at him. This will not stand! So he was instrumental in sending thousands of people to their deaths in overthrowing a backward country into oblivion and chaos without any clue on restoring order. In the process alienating the majority of our allies that were committed to helping us in Afghanistan. Who need those selfish humanitarian bastards anyway? We’ll just keep sending our own people to their deaths. It’s not like they will be missed or anything, probably all high school drop outs that would have just been a drain on society anyway. Good riddance!
Now compare that to Edward Kennedy where in an accident that he was instrumental in the death of one person, he panicked and did not come forward immediately. Now it seems, listening to some of the more addle-brained, spittle-flaying, Fox News commentators, that deserved the death penalty along with being drawn and quartered just prior to. Instead he was relegated to the status of a has-been with no credibility even among his own party. He had to earn that back over a long period of hard work and dedication. AS well as showing he could compromise with both sides of the political spectrum so as to get something positive done.
What does it matter that subsequently he worked harder than any other Senator during that period, authoring and fighting for legislation that benefited those that had no other voice to champion them? He could have called it in each day like the majority of the legislators from both houses and both sides of he aisle who follow their corporate masters rather then their conscience.
What I find ironic with all these ditto-heads is that they claim such sympathy for the victim, Mary Jo Kopechne. Yet if she were alive and had continued on with her work she would, in all probability, be on their hate list as well, being as how she was a very committed liberal working on the behalf of Robert Kennedy at the time.
But lets not let common sense and research get in the way of a good rant so continue on.
